Large-Scale eCommerce Migration of Crafmen Products Online Shop

In collaboration with Woell Digital agency, I contributed to a major eCommerce project for a leading craftsmanship products retailer in Germany. This ongoing project, spanning over three years and ongoing, involved migrating from Shopware to Pimcore to meet advanced customization needs. I joined the existing team of two developers and a project manager in the second year of the project, helping to accelerate development and enhance functionality.

 

Contributions:

 

  • Implemented Pimcore’s eCommerce index and filter service for product listings
  • Developed custom Pimcore Bricks
  • Technical concept and implementation of brand content pages for user product discovery
  • Extended Pimcore data objects and related functionality
  • Implemented responsive design for cross-device compatibility
  • Collaborated on bug fixes and continuous improvements

Website Relaunch for Emergency Lighting Manufacturer

In collaboration with Woell Digital agency, I contributed to a major website relaunch for a German manufacturer and retailer of emergency lighting systems, a company with 300 employees. The project involved upgrading from Pimcore 6.0 to Pimcore 11, modernizing their digital presence and improving they data structure. As part of a team of 3 developers and 1 project manager, I joined 3 months into the year-long project.

  • Developed comprehensive CMS functionality building over 30 custom Pimcore bricks
  • Implemented content management systems for jobs, blog, news, and events
  • Executed complete frontend implementation based on designs from an external agency
  • Created a custom form builder using Pimcore Bricks and Data Objects
  • Developed technical datasheet generation as PDF system based on product information
  • Implemented product listing using Pimcore’s ecommerce index and filter service
  • Integrated multilanguage support and SEO features throughout the site
  • After 2 Months into the project I also got the responsability for the daily project management

Throughout this time, I’ve been closely mentored by the agency’s owner, who has been working with Pimcore since version 1. This intensive experience and mentorship have given me a deep understanding of Pimcore despite my relatively short tenure.
